I’m baaaack…

Not that many people missed me, I’m certain.

It was a billing issue with my host, in that I forgot to pay the bill, in case anyone is wondering.

So much has gone on recently that I wanted to talk about. I’ll probably skip most of it, since I have a hard enough time keeping up as it is. No need to add to the stress level by trying to catch up from waaaay behind.

I do want to update one item, which is the Officially Sanctioned Identity Theft post. A grand jury declined to indict anyone involved in the case. They heard from 20 witnesses over 4 days, according to a Columbus Dispatch article.

Miami County Prosecutor Gary Nasal testified as a witness, and later said he thought the conduct of the agents involved was wrong, but legal. Interesting concept, that. If he thought it was wrong, why did he allow it? As it turns out, Two agents of the Ohio Investigative Unit were fired for their role in providing the ID for use in the investigation. They are appealing that decision and attempting to regain their jobs. It sounds like OIU Director Dwight Holcomb will fight it as much as possible; he was quoted in the article as saying, “Administratively, what they did, we felt, was completely wrong.” He’s right; let’s hope he can keep those agents out of work, or at least out of the OIU.
